Semaphore publishes short stories and poetry on a quarterly basis - that is, we put out an issue every March, June, September and December. December's something of a double-up month, actually, as this is also when we publish our Anthology, which is a print best-of collection.

The quarterly issues are available to download free from this site (see Current Issue and Archives). If checking the website every three months is absolutely too much for you, you can also sign up to have Semaphore Magazine mailed directly to your inbox whenever a new issue is published. Just drop Marie a line, and be sure to put the word "SUBSCRIPTION" in the header.

If you prefer reading from paper pages to reading from the screen, you can also order a copy of the 2009 or 2010 Anthology. See this page for details.

Excellent! It's good to see you here because, you see, we'd be a pretty poor sort of a magazine without you. Semaphore relies on a steady supply of short stories and poetry to stay alive. We're mainly interested in works related to the fantasy and detective genres, but we're perfectly happy to delve into other genres as well. Check out our Submissions page for more information.
